Women Aquaculture experts...

and rising.

Inspired by the French initiative Les Expertes, SheSpeaksBlue was born from a simple but persistent observation: women are still largely underrepresented in the public sphere,  in media, conferences, and expert panels.

In some studies, less than 30% of experts featured in media are women — and this figure drops even further in technical fields like aquaculture.

And yet, they are here.

Women who lead research, launch innovative companies, manage sustainable projects, and drive transformation across the aquaculture value chain.

SheSpeaksBlue aims to give them the voice and visibility they deserve, because expertise knows no gender.

SheSpeaksBlue is the first free, 100% digital international directory dedicated to women experts in aquaculture.

While women represent only a small fraction of expert voices in the media and public forums globally, this project proves that they do exist, and they are many.

SheSpeaksBlue highlights four types of expertise profiles in aquaculture:

🔹 Professional Experts – women in leadership roles in companies, federations, or unions, or who have published work related to their sector.

🔹 Researchers – scientists and academics with publications in peer-reviewed journals.

🔹 Civil Society Leaders – women leading associations, networks, or non-profit initiatives in the field.

🔹 Specialized Journalists – editorial or investigative journalists who have published major works on aquaculture or ocean-related topics.

We do not include elected political figures or representatives of politically affiliated organizations.

SheSpeaksBlue aims to make these women visible, accessible, and represented,  in the media, at conferences, on expert panels, and wherever their voices matter.

By creating this unique and inclusive platform, we hope to reshape the public narrative and ensure that expertise in aquaculture reflects the full diversity of its actors.

Are you a scientist, researcher, entrepreneur, association leader, technical expert, or change-maker in aquaculture ?

Led by expert coach, these workshops are designed to empower women to raise their voices and be seen and heard in the media, at conferences, and beyond.
